Questions people actually ask
Do these really hold 800 lbs?
Several listings here state that figure. We have not measured it, we do not know the test it refers to, and the number tells you nothing about the screws in your particular frame or the softwood behind them. Treat it as a claim printed on a box. What load a fixing carries depends on the frame it is fixed into, which is unique to your door.
Can I use one of these on a door that swings outward?
No. Every flip latch here is listed for inward-swinging doors only, because the mechanism relies on the door closing into the frame past the bracket. On an outward-swinging door the effort belongs in the hinges and the strike side instead.
Is a reinforcement lock allowed in a rental?

What about fire doors?
